All of our products comply fully with the Building Code of Australia's fire safety regulations. None of our products are among the insulation material types identified in FESA and EnergySafety's joint position statement on downlight related fires. Nonetheless, we recommend all downlights be fitted with fire-resistant guards as they not only provide added safety but also ensure households maximise the effectiveness of their insulation. To learn more about downlight guards, click the play button.
We come across many older halogen downlights that do not comply with the new standard, mainly due to either the halogen light or the light's transformer being installed too close to (sometimes even on) the ceiling's structural timbers. Installing ISOlite™ downlight covers with transformer isolator can make them safe.
There are many other benefits from installing ISOlite™ downlight covers detailed in the manufacturers brochure. Click logo below.
